Bak Kut Teh is the hokkien dialect for 肉骨茶. In the past, people love to eat this delicacy in the early morning. However, in this mordern era, u can get it at anytime, from morning till night. It is my obligation to promote u this yummylicious food!
Bak Kut Teh is usually served in a claypot. The ingredients are button-mushroom, tau foo pok, some vegetables, foo chok, Enokitake (jīnzhēngū 金針菇), and the pork meat. Some love to eat it with pork intestine and some internal organs (though i don't have those cravings >.< ). The tastiness of the food lies within the SOUP - depending on the types of herb they use.
This is the special type of bak kut teh that is rarely found in places outside Klang - Dry Bak Kut Teh. Unlike the soup version, the dry type uses various types of sauce and herbs + dried chillies, ladies finger & dried sotong. Love the aroma!
Don't even try eating bak kut teh without the yao zha guai (油條). It goes well with the soup. Dip it, eat it.
N of coz, balance out ur diet with some vegetables!
Last, but not least, drink a cup of tea to "filter out the oil". Scientifically proven, tea helps to reduce our bad cholesterol!
