Fried chicken feet 炸鸡脚 & Midin @ Spring Garden Cafe, Bintulu, Sarawak

Yes, we will be going to Bumi Kenyalang (Land of the Hornbills)--- SARAWAK!











This "Gie Ka" (Chicken Feet in FooChow) is one of the best of its kind in East Malaysia.



The shop is usually flooded with customers 99% of the time! Hmmm, guess there's always a price to pay (wait) when the food is good.








Let me introduce to u guys a rather unique dish that is very popular amoung the Sarawakians - Midin (or Milin). Midin is a type of EADIBLE fern that can be found in the jungles of Sarawak, and it is usually "harvest" by the Iban tribe.


There is a variety way of cooking this dish. One of my favourite is "Midin Umai" - The midin is boiled and mixed with lime juice + chilli + onion + soysauce... Mmmhmmmm, it's really CRUNCHY!
