Popiah 薄饼 @ Jalan Bunga Raya ( Madam King Mall)

Cited from wikipedia, Popiah originated from the province of Fujian and Chaozhou. It can be served as an appetizer, entree, or as a desert. I particularly like having it as part of my breakfast meal or during tea time.

The filling of a typical popiah consists of steam turnip (aka ban kuang), shredded omelette, fried tofu, shrimps, bean sprout topped with fried shallots and mixed with hoisin sauce with or without sambal (chili sauce).

This stall in front of Madam King's departmental store is always crowded with people. One has to take number and wait for 15-30 mins depending on the amount of people.

I would highly recommend this popiah stall. I guess the only downside to it is its long Q and the strong lard smell.

Wantan Mee 云吞面 @ Chulia Street, Penang

Another wantan mee post for all the wantan mee lovers out there! Homemade cum handmade egg noodle. It is one of Penang's highly recommended wantan mee hawker stall. It is located at the heart of Chulia Street (streets where most bagpackers from the western country stays).

It has been told by the locals that these couple has been selling wantan mee at this location for decades. It is considerable very cheap compared with the prices in the Klang Valley.

The small lane where everyone sits down to eat. I guess great foods in Penang are always associated with less hygienic places ( I don't really mind!).

U can either order the thick noodle (粗面) or the thin noodle (幼面).  I myself prefer the texture of the thick noodle.

RM3.50 (B)

Y.HK BBQ Chicken Wings @ Restoran Chu Yu, Segambut (Near Kepong)

"Golden on the outside, juicy on the inside". This BBQ chicken wing stall is well-known in Segambut. It smells great, and definitely taste great too.
The skin is really crispy and is best eaten while it is HOT. The juicy and scrumption taste of the meat goes very well with its homemade chili sauce.

"The chili sauce cum lime juice leaves a exquisitely delectable sensation"
We usually wait approximately 25 minutes before our meals are being served.

Bak Kut Teh @ Restoran The Taste (品味吧生肉骨茶), Taman Sea, PJ

There's a newly opened Bak Kut Teh restaurant that taste almost as good, or perhaps even better than those in Klang. It is located in between Taman Megah & Taman Sea. Cleanliness: 10/10. Great place to have a meal with your family & friends.

The tastefulness of this delicacy always lie in the ingredient of the soup. The soup has a strong chinese herbal aroma, which enhances your appetite almost immediately. *hungry pangs*

Goes best with a little garlic + soy sauce.

Popiah @ Restoran Mee Yoke Lim (Restoran Chow Yang), SS2

My all time favourite popiah stall. Have been eating it for the past 15 years. It is pretty famous among the PJ folks. The contents are taufoo, mengkuang, cucmber, and some fried onions that makes the popiah a little crispy. Chilli / non-chilli.

This uncle has been making popiah for the past 2 decade. Highly recommended!

Hainan Western Food @ Mount Erskine, Penang

A well-known location among the locals, this restaurant serves cheap and good western food. Located at the roadside along Mount Erskine, this place is always crowded with people like me n u, eaters! Let me introduce a couple of delicious Hainan western food.

I ordered the Butter Garlic Pork Chop, which costs only RM8. The helping is relatively big. And most of all, the fried garlic made the meal really crispy. Though it will be a little oily. Give it a try!

Grilled Pork Chop for only RM7. It tasted just like the Butter Garlic Pork Chop, except without the fried garlic.

BBQ Pork Chop for RM8. Tasted like any ordinary BBQ sauce. Not my favourite.

The Indiana Pork Chop for RM8. It tasted like curry sauce. Kinda special. Recommended.

Enough of Pork =p . The Grilled Lamb Chop for RM12. I crave the mint sauce a lot. Tasted excellent with the lamb. However, I felt that the lamb was a little fatty. Still worth for its price!

Their home-made sauce. It goes very well with the Pork Chop. It's really really really very nice!

The mushroom soup for RM2.50. It is a little different from most mushroom soup as it tasted like butter. I like it though.

Nyonya Laksa @ Baba Low's 486, Jalan Tengkera, Melaka

A highly recommended place indeed for Baba Nyonya Food lovers! One of the best food around Melaka. *Thumbs Up* The price is OK too.

The Nyonya Laksa is one of a kind! It tasted like Mix Asam Laksa + Curry Laksa. The soup is just great. Drank the whole bowl. Probably did lick it dry too =)

Ordered the Pai Tee. It tasted more Original compared to the Chicken Rice Shop. Love the fried onions! smells great. Bdw my friends said it was a little sweet. Tasted great though.

The Mee Siam is above my expectation! It wasn't too spicy and the sambal was delicious. Few slices of fishcake, shreds of cucumber, 1/2 egg, and a lime to squeeze. Great meal for tea-break.

Nyonya Laksa - RM4
Mee Siam - RM3
Pai Tee - RM3.50
